Apple Makes a Significant Change to iPhone Cases
Apple has decided to cancel the controversial iPhone FineWoven cases only a year after their introduction, as we previously predicted. This decision creates mixed feelings among users, while Apple also announced new iPhone 16 cases produced by Beats.
The new Beats iPhone 16 cases are equipped with MagSafe and Camera Control support. In a press release, Beats stated that the new cases are made of soft microfiber material and offered bold accent colors such as Midnight Black, Summit Stone, Riptide Blue, and Sunset Purple. Oliver Schusser, Vice President of Apple Music and Beats, emphasized that “We are thrilled to introduce the first iPhone case designed by Beats,” highlighting that the new cases are a perfect way for users to make their iPhone 16 series even more impressive.
It has been reported that the iPhone 16 cases designed by Beats are thin, lightweight, and easy to grip, made from rigid polycarbonate with flexible side walls to optimize shock absorption. Additionally, the smooth exterior surface of the cases is covered with a glossy, scratch-resistant coating for extra protection, and the soft microfiber lining protects the iPhone.
Beats also adds that in order to fully benefit from the new Camera Control, the cases contain a sapphire crystal with a conductive layer that transmits finger gestures to the Camera Control. This feature aims to further enhance users’ photography experience.
Finally, the company states that the packaging of the iPhone 16 cases is 100% fiber-based and that the wood fibers are either 100% recycled or responsibly sourced, as part of its carbon-neutral commitment. This once again showcases Apple’s determination regarding environmental sustainability.
