WhatsApp Introduces New Favorites Feature
WhatsApp has announced a new favorites feature that will display your starred contacts and groups at the top of the search tab and in filtered results in the chats tab. The company stated that this feature was developed to help you find your important contacts more quickly.
With this new feature, you can mark not only contacts but also group chats as favorites. Favorites will be displayed more prominently in the chat and call tabs.
How to Use the Favorites Feature?
- In the chats screen, you can add your contacts or groups to favorites by selecting the “favorites” filter.
- In the search tab, you can add your contacts or groups to favorites by tapping on “Add to Favorites“.
- By following the path Settings > Favorites > Add to Favorites, you can easily manage and rearrange your favorites.
Additionally, earlier this month, WhatsApp introduced a new feature providing context cards for group invitations. With this feature, when you receive a group invite from an unknown person, you will be able to get brief information about the group’s creation date, purpose, and creator. WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart stated that this new feature adds an extra layer to existing security features such as muting unknown callers, privacy controls, and managing who can add you to groups.
