It has been reported that Amazon is working on ‘Metis,’ an artificial intelligence chat robot similar to ChatGPT. Metis will be accessible via web browsers and will provide text responses in a conversational style, offer links to resources, suggest follow-up questions, and create visuals.

Metis will be able to access information outside of the training data using a technique called retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). This means Metis will have an advantage over its competitors. The company also plans to function Metis as an artificial intelligence assistant. Operating as a smart home assistant, Metis will automate various tasks to provide convenience to users.
