Just a week after a major launch event for the iPhone 16 series, Apple has finally confirmed an important feature of its new flagship phones: All models will be released equipped with 8GB of RAM.

Apple’s hardware engineering director Johny Srouji Geekerwan officially announced this 8GB RAM amount in an interview. Apple prefers not to include RAM information on the technical specifications pages of their iPhones. This means potential buyers cannot see how much RAM they are getting when pre-ordering; they can only choose the device’s model, color, and storage capacity. This secrecy is concerning for users, especially when high-end models are priced close to 100,000 Turkish Lira.

A few days ago, codes found in one of Apple’s official developer tools had already revealed that all iPhone 16 models are indeed equipped with 8GB of RAM. It is worth noting that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max released last year also come with 8GB of RAM, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are equipped with 6GB of RAM.

Those Expecting More than 8GB RAM are Shocked

This development signifies an upgrade for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. However, another notable point is that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will not have extra RAM this year. This situation means there is less distinction between the standard and Pro models, which could affect users’ choices.
