Woo X Introduces an Innovative Approach to Copy Trading

Cryptocurrency exchange Woo X has recently unveiled a revamped and more equitable version of copy trading, allowing users to replicate the strategies of experienced traders. This announcement was made on Monday, signaling a significant advancement in the realm of social trading.

Copy trading, also referred to as “social trading,” is a concept that has gained traction in both the cryptocurrency and traditional finance sectors. It allows users to benefit from the successes of top traders by mirroring their trading activities. The concept was popularized by fintech platform eToro and has since been adopted by several major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance and OKX.

However, according to Woo X’s COO, Willy Chuang, the existing models required significant adjustments to align incentives properly. The goal was to ensure that lead traders do not merely profit from exchange fees or other misaligned incentives. Additionally, there was a need to alleviate the constant pressure on these lead traders to consistently outperform the market. To address this, Woo X has introduced a flexible countertrade option.

“We conducted extensive research and pinpointed several pain points for users,” Chuang explained in a recent interview. “Many reported returns can be misleading or unsustainable, and there have been instances where users felt they were being misled by lead traders. To combat this, we’ve established a higher profit threshold that safeguards users, ensuring that profits are only shared with lead traders when portfolios are genuinely profitable.”
