The Competition for Triple-Screen Foldable Phones Heats Up

It seems that Huawei is not the only company planning to launch a foldable phone with three screens. According to recent developments, Xiaomi is also eager to participate in this exciting race and is working on a foldable phone with three screens. Additionally, another Chinese brand, TECNO, recently showcased the concept of a triple-screen foldable phone at IFA 2024 held in Berlin, Germany.

The desire of Chinese brands to quickly initiate competition in the triple-screen foldable phone market is noteworthy. Now, OPPO’s Product Manager Zhou Yibao has shared an image of the three-screen foldable device the company is working on on China’s popular social media platform Weibo. Zhou stated that OPPO has been diligently working on such phones for several years and has developed many different concept designs.

Interestingly, it was mentioned in the post shared by Zhou that the foldable phone could potentially be a commercially viable product. The shared image highlights a triple-screen foldable phone with a sleek and almost bezel-less design. This device appears to be equipped with two hinges and a faux leather back surface. Furthermore, it is observed that the device runs OPPO’s ColorOS interface, which includes large icons and widgets, and features a taskbar at the bottom.

According to the content of the post, it is expressed that OPPO is considering launching this innovative triple-screen foldable phone after completing several significant launches it is working on. However, there is a notable situation; the post containing all this information has been deleted from Zhou’s Weibo feed. This situation indicates that OPPO is being careful to maintain the confidentiality of its new product development process.
