Samsung’s flagship phones have always been positioned in the premium price range. However, it is predicted that prices may rise even higher with the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor in the Galaxy S25 series, expected to be released in 2025. Qualcomm, as the company producing Snapdragon chipsets, had previously indicated that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 would be more expensive than its predecessor, Gen 3.

A notable information source, @UniverseIce, claims that the price of this new chipset will be $240. This represents a 20.68% increase in price compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Such an increase will naturally reflect on consumers’ wallets.

This price increase is expected to impact not only the Samsung Galaxy S25 series but also Samsung’s other flagship models, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Additionally, many other brands such as OnePlus, Sony, and Xiaomi may also see their new device prices negatively affected by this situation.

However, since there are many different factors that affect a phone’s price, it is also possible that other dynamics could balance the prices. In particular, large brands that sell a high volume of phones may have better bargaining power against increases in chipset prices.
