Explore new revenue models for Roblox developers! Increase your earnings with our guide filled with viable strategies and tips to make your games more profitable and enhance the player experience.
Developers are currently able to charge a one-time Robux fee to provide their users with access to a paid experience. However, towards the end of this year, game creators will have the opportunity to sell their games for real money. In this new system, developers will earn a 50% revenue share when they make a $10 sale. For larger sales, the revenue share rates will be determined as follows:
- $30 sales: 60% revenue share
- $50 sales: 70% revenue share
This feature will initially be available for the PC platform. In the coming periods, it is expected that the number of supported platforms will increase. According to Manuel Bronstein, Roblox’s Chief Product Officer, at the annual developers conference, he emphasized that their goal with this new option is to create more games and convert them into revenue.
Most games will continue to be offered for free to users. However, Roblox believes that this new system will encourage developers on the platform to create games. Thus, new opportunities will arise for both developers and players.
