WhatsApp’s New Feature: Convenience in Group Calls

WhatsApp is making group calls more user-friendly with a new feature integrated into its Android beta application. Users will now be able to create a call link directly from group chats. This feature has been made available with version 2.24.19.14 and provides great convenience for group administrators.

Previously, to initiate a voice or video call within group chats, users had to go to the Calls tab. However, with this new update, it is now possible to create a call link directly from the group chat. This change allows group administrators to communicate more effectively with their members while also making group calls much more accessible.

The notion that everyone in the group needs to be called to start a group call has also been eliminated. All you need to do is create a call link and share it in the group chat. This way, all members can easily join the call by tapping on the link within the group chat.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature is currently only available in the WhatsApp Android beta application accessible through the Google Play Beta program. Additionally, WhatsApp is also working on other features to enhance user experience.

In particular, they are working on a ‘special lists’ feature that will allow users to create a list of individual or group chats that will automatically create a special filter at the top of these chats. Furthermore, there is a “Mark All as Read” button in the testing phase that will allow users to mark all unread messages as read with a single tap. These innovations seem to further enrich the experience of WhatsApp users within the app.
