During that time, people with large phones were ridiculed and often asked, “Are you carrying a brick?” However, with the launch of the iPhone in 2007, this obsession with “small phones” ended, and people began to desire phones with increasingly larger screens.

A project that would put an end to the ever-growing smartphones was brought to life by a remarkable YouTuber. The YouTube channel DIY Perks rolled up its sleeves to create a fully functioning, giant iPhone and succeeded in producing an 1.8-meter tall, life-sized iPhone. However, what is noteworthy here is that the YouTuber did not produce an entirely new phone. In fact, this is merely a attention-grabbing project.

This creative YouTuber built a large touchscreen that reflects the screen of a regular iPhone by bringing projects to life created at home. This giant monitor was designed to resemble the iPhone, and of course, a few small circuit boards were added to provide functionalities like volume buttons, speakers, and cameras on the case. This YouTuber, who enjoys showcasing such extraordinary ideas, has gained nearly 5 million followers as a result.

However, as an interesting parody of the demand for increasingly larger phones, this 1.8-meter tall iPhone seems to have found its place in the world of comedy. Fortunately, real phone manufacturers prefer foldable screen technology instead of using larger panels to increase screen size. Thus, we can still comfortably fit phones in the “mini tablet” size of 7 inches and above into our pockets.
