Business Insider Set to Appoint Jamie Heller as New Editor in Chief

Business Insider is reportedly poised to name Jamie Heller, the esteemed business editor of The Wall Street Journal, as its next editor in chief. This decision comes from two sources familiar with the impending appointment.

Throughout her impressive two-decade tenure at The Wall Street Journal, Ms. Heller has spearheaded some of the publication’s most critical and impactful coverage. Originally trained as a lawyer with an Ivy League education, she made a significant career pivot into journalism, where she has flourished.

In her most recent role as the business editor, Ms. Heller has been responsible for overseeing the news organization’s comprehensive global coverage that spans various sectors, including technology, media, energy, and significant consumer companies. Her leadership has been pivotal in shaping the business narrative at the Journal.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Heller served as the deals editor, where she managed the coverage of mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, she held the position of deputy editor in the finance section, further solidifying her expertise in financial journalism.

Business Insider, which is owned by the German media powerhouse Axel Springer, has been on the lookout for a new editor in chief since Nicholas Carlson departed from the role earlier this year. As of now, Ms. Heller has not publicly responded to requests for comment regarding her potential new position.
