Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Users Encounter Charging Device Issues

While phone manufacturers prefer to reduce costs by not including a charger in the box when selling their expensive smartphones, companies aiming for an annual profit of $400 billion believe that consumers will buy their phones even without a charger. However, users of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Z Fold 6, who paid a price of $1,899.99, are quite disturbed by the peeling of the phone’s outer casing. Many complaints have emerged on social media platforms about Z Fold 6 phones in different colors, with the outer paint peeling off and revealing the underlying metal.

After purchasing such an expensive mobile phone, people expect the product to remain sturdy for several years. The users’ reactions are quite harsh: “Give me more money, so the paint doesn’t peel!”

Samsung, which reviewed the complaints, directly blamed users for the paint peeling issue. The company stated that users experiencing this situation obtained cheaper chargers from third-party brands instead of the original Samsung charger after purchasing their phones. It was indicated that these third-party chargers caused the phones’ paint to peel.

Samsung’s official statement further clarifies the situation: “There are two explanations for why this issue occurs. The first is related to third-party chargers; if you are using a poorly grounded high-speed third-party charger, leakage current can lead to the ‘delamination’ of the anodized paint…”

In short, leakage current occurs due to high current chargers, and this situation damages the paint. Therefore, it seems quite likely that Samsung will link future malfunctions in phones to user error with a justification like “You didn’t use the original charger, so the circuits burned out”. Even if users purchase the original charger, they may encounter remarks like “Maybe you used a borrowed third-party device in an emergency, who knows, your phone is out of warranty, and the repair cost is also $1500”. This situation becomes quite alarming for ensuring users have a safe experience.
