Yoshida stated, “Our efforts to bring Final Fantasy 14 to a Nintendo console are continuing at full speed. We have made good progress so far, and I am sure that both the media and players will enjoy our game on Nintendo consoles. Our goal is to release the game on as many platforms as possible.”

The fact that Yoshida did not mention any console names in his statements has led to some speculation. In light of this information, it is suggested that the game may not be coming to the current Nintendo Switch console but rather to the next-generation console, Switch 2.
