Apple Offers a New Tool to Its Users

Apple announced in an update to its official support document that it now offers a tool that allows users to transfer their Apple Music playlists to YouTube Music. This new feature provides significant convenience for music lovers.

According to the support document, users with an active Apple Music or iTunes Match subscription can seamlessly transfer their playlists to YouTube Music. However, there is an important point to note; playlists cannot be transferred to Spotify. Users who want to initiate the export process need to visit Apple’s Data and Privacy page and follow the on-screen instructions to transfer their playlists to YouTube Music libraries by selecting the appropriate option.

This process requires a fairly simple procedure and typically, the export process is completed in just a few minutes. However, this feature offered by Apple Music only allows exporting playlists that belong to the user. In other words, playlists created by others, even if they are in the user’s archive, cannot be exported. Additionally, tracks exclusive to Apple Music will not appear in the YouTube Music library. This situation may restrict users’ music experience.

Despite Spotify being a more popular platform than YouTube Music, it is noteworthy that Apple has not provided a clear explanation as to why it did not include Spotify in this tool. However, it is believed that the historical tensions between the two companies may have influenced this decision.

What is Apple’s Strategy Towards Its Users?

So, why did Apple feel the need to offer such a service to its users? Traditionally known for directing its users away from competitors, Apple preferred to create obstacles for them. However, this change does not mean that Apple has adopted a more conscientious approach for its users. The company’s main goal is to respond to the monopoly allegations that have emerged in Europe and to comply with the laws.

The new application emerges as a result of Apple’s obligation to comply with legal regulations after years of unethical monopolistic policies. In this context, the step taken by Apple to enhance the user experience can actually be seen as part of a broader strategy.
