The End of Blue Protocol: Saying Goodbye to Service in 2025

The free-to-play online action RPG Blue Protocol will end its service in Japan on January 18, 2025, according to an announcement by Bandai Namco. This popular game published by Amazon Games has drawn attention after the cancellation of its previously planned western release. Blue Protocol was first launched on June 14, 2023 in Japan on the PC platform, and then it was released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on December 13, 2023. The game will continue to receive new stories and content updates until its final service day.

In a statement regarding the matter, Bandai Namco Online said, “We had a very strong collaboration with Amazon Games during the development of Blue Protocol, and both of our teams are disappointed that we cannot present the game to players worldwide.”

Blue Protocol is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms in Japan. Bandai Namco’s massive multiplayer online role-playing game transitions into a world reminiscent of anime films with high-end graphics and promises to deliver characteristic multiplayer action gameplay.

“The world is on the brink of destruction, now is the time to unite. Walk together with friends and strangers and defeat powerful enemies. Travel through space and time to change the future.”
