New Features in Windows 10: Account Manager Feature

Although support for Windows 10 will end in about a year, Microsoft continues to innovate within the operating system. Observations indicate that many features coming to Windows 11 will also be transferred to Windows 10 users. However, some new features are notably coming from the criticized Start Menu of Windows 11.

Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced a new feature that opens when you click on your profile picture in the Start Menu. This feature is called “Account Manager” for Windows 11. Account Manager not only allows users to log out, lock the device, or switch profiles but also displays ads related to Microsoft 365. The truly useful buttons for users are hidden behind a sub-menu consisting of three dots.

This new feature is preparing to reach Windows 10 users as well. Changes have started to be observed in the latest Windows 10 preview versions in the Beta and Release Preview Channels. It is reported that the feature works like it does in Windows 11; however, the sub-menu containing the sign-out and lock buttons is currently disabled by default since it is not yet functional.

If you want to experience this new feature, you need to update your Windows 10 installation to version 19045.4842 and use the ViVeTool application to enable features numbered 47988717, 48433719, and 49453572. However, since the use of third-party applications always carries certain risks, it is important to make necessary backups before taking these steps.

Microsoft has not yet officially announced the Account Manager for Windows 10. However, considering that this feature is available in the stable version of Windows 11, it can be anticipated that this innovation will come to Windows 10 in the future.
