New Developments About Avowed
New details continue to emerge about the action role-playing game Avowed, which is currently being developed by Obsidian studio. This time, the game’s art director, Matt Hansen, made significant statements regarding the game’s performance targets.
Hansen emphasized that the frame rate target set for Avowed is 30 FPS. In a discussion on the Iron Lords podcast, he stated, “We aim for a minimum frame rate of 30 fps. This frame rate is quite sufficient for a single-player project played from a first-person perspective. Therefore, I don’t think you necessarily need 60 fps.”
The art director also expressed that the atmosphere of the game is extremely intense, yet it runs smoothly, adding that their priority is to deliver this experience to the players. Initially planned for release towards the end of this year, Avowed has since been announced to be released in 2025. The developer, Obsidian, noted in a blog post about the game that the release date was mistakenly announced as November 12, but this information was later removed.
Meanwhile, game director Carrie Patel claimed that Avowed will have more than 10 endings. Announced in July 2020, the game takes place in the Eora world, introduced within the famous Pillars of Eternity series.
