New Features and Updates in NBA 2K25 MyTEAM Mode
NBA 2K25 is offering players all the exciting innovations and updates for the MyTEAM mode. This year promises an experience filled with four new game modes, a year-long MyTEAM REP system offering inter-mode advantages and rewards, a series of quality improvements, the return of the Auction House, and much more. Erick Boenisch, Vice President of NBA Development at Visual Concepts, stated, “We made significant updates to create one of the most comprehensive card-collecting experiences on the market with new modes across MyTEAM, enhanced features, and the implementation of community feedback.” He added, “Taking community feedback into account was a fundamental focus this year. We clearly heard 2K players and are bringing back the Auction House by popular demand.”
New Modes and Live Events in NBA 2K25 MyTEAM
- Triple Threat Park: NBA 2K25 introduces Triple Threat Park, one of the biggest innovations in MyTEAM history, for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This mode is a next-gen remake of NBA 2K16’s Rivet City Championship MyPARK. Accessible from MyTEAM menus or The City, this mode hosts Triple Threat Online and Triple Threat Online: Co-Op multiplayer games. This park features a total of nine courts, four of which are designated for 2-player 3v3 games and five for 6-player 3v3 Co-Op games. With NBA 2K25, players will have the chance to play Park games with NBA stars while watching their MyPLAYERs from the sidelines.
- Breakout: Breakout offers a new single-player experience for NBA 2K25 MyTEAM. Players will compete among their preferred fast Triple Threat 3v3, Clutch Time 5v5, or shortened 13-card Full Roster games while trying to escape the game board and earn rewards. As they explore each board, they will encounter current NBA teams, historical teams, All-Time teams, and themed collections released throughout the year. When players reach the outer edge, they will face a final gatekeeper team to win the ultimate reward.
- Showdown: Showdown is the new win-focused multiplayer mode in NBA 2K25, inspired by previous MyTEAM years. This mode caters to top players and offers the best rewards. Games are played with 13-card Full Rosters in 4-minute quarters. Essentially, it features a 15-level progression system aimed at winning and advancing. Winning streaks help players climb the ladder faster. When players achieve several victories in the previous week, they will have the opportunity every Friday at 8:00 PM Pacific Time to select a reward group. Players reaching a specific Showdown victory will gain the right to participate in our new competitive mode, King of the Court.
- King of the Court: King of the Court is an event where the best players compete each week. This special event will take place every Saturday from September 14, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM PT. To participate, players must reach a certain qualification threshold in the previous week’s Showdown or Triple Threat Park modes or level up in MyTEAM REP. After each King of the Court game, players will earn a Game Score based on their performance. If they lose three games, their time in King of the Court for that Saturday will end. Each Saturday, the final Game Score will be ranked among all competitors, determining the ultimate No. 1 King of the Court.
More Updates
- Return of the Auction House: In response to community demands, the Auction House is returning to NBA 2K25 MyTEAM mode. Players can auction their cards using MyTEAM Points (MTP) or purchase cards to enhance their collections. The Auction House menu has been streamlined into a single central point for searching, buying, and selling, providing a smoother experience. Players can now easily check MTP prices for their cards before selling them by directly searching for selected cards from the My Auctions menu.
- MyTEAM REP: NBA 2K25 introduces a new REP system for MyTEAM mode. This system serves as an achievement indicator that will not reset at the end of each season and will last throughout the year. New rewards include seasonal, monthly, and weekly Free Packs, the return of popular rewards like Fire Ball, access to the Auction House, and major rewards like the G.O.A.T. Jayson Tatum Player Card for players reaching Dark Matter level. The REP leaderboard will adorn the Top Ten REP Players with INVINCIBLE Logos, and the first place will receive the G.O.A.T. Logo.
- New Way to Enter the Game: NBA 2K25 offers a new tutorial mode to teach players the fundamentals of MyTEAM, NBA 2K game mechanics, and the sport of basketball. Players can start through the Learn 2K training for New Generation and then return to MyTEAM to access various modes and special “Welcome to MyTEAM” missions. In the Training Center found under the MyTEAM HOME tab, players can rewatch Trainings, watch Tips & Tricks videos, practice Free Throws, or conduct a Scrimmage with MyTEAM rosters.
NBA 2K25 will also include updates featuring smooth menus and user interface, new badges, Takeover Cards, updated Coach Cards, new Free Agent player cards limited to just 5 games, a revamped version of The Exchange, and much more.
