Apple will produce iPhone 16 Pro models in India.
Apple is strengthening its commitment to the local market by starting to produce iPhone 16 Pro models in India. This strategic move will reduce production costs and also contribute to the Indian economy.
Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Models Will Be Produced in India!
As the day for Apple to launch the iPhone 16 approaches rapidly, exciting developments are coming in succession. With just a few weeks left until the event, some sources report that Apple plans to expand its production process outside of China, and that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models will be produced in India for the first time. This strategic move aims to help meet the expected demand for the standard iPhone 16 and Pro models this year.
In this context, Foxconn has begun training thousands of workers at its factory in Tamil Nadu, India. Now, a new leak that has emerged on the Chinese social media platform Weibo seems to confirm the news regarding the iPhone 16 Pro models produced in India. A leak source known as OvO shared an image of a label sealing the iPhone 16 Pro box. Notably, this label features the statement, “Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in India“. Although the accuracy of the leak has yet to be proven, if true, it suggests that we will encounter an iPhone Pro model that is “Made in India” for the first time.
In addition to Foxconn, other Apple partners in India, such as Pegatron and Tata Group, are also expected to start the production of iPhone 16 Pro models soon. Last year, Apple began assembling the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models in India for the first time, simultaneously with China. This step could allow Apple to reduce pressure on its supply chain in China and potentially narrow the price gap for local Indian customers, making its smartphones and other products more accessible.
Apple’s new production strategy will not only lower costs but also strengthen its presence in India’s growing technology market. This will enable Apple to create more local employment and respond more quickly to consumer demands in India, as part of its global strategy.
