This project, which has been in the development stage for 3 years but has recently gone quiet, has finally come to an end.

GTA San Andreas VR Put on Hold

According to statements made to IGN, Meta has confirmed that the development of GTA: San Andreas VR has been indefinitely suspended. A Meta spokesperson provided various statements regarding the status of the project, saying, “The VR version of GTA: San Andreas is currently on hold. In this regard, we are focusing on other projects and plan to continue collaborating and partnering with Rockstar in the future.”

No information has been provided about whether the two companies are considering reviving the project in the future. However, as of now, it has been confirmed that the virtual reality version will not be released in any form. What this situation means for Take-Two Interactive’s future plans in the VR space is still unclear. Although the company has shown interest in VR technology in the past, the suspension of San Andreas VR’s development suggests that their plans may have changed.
