Honor 200 Pro: New High-End Smartphone Review
Today, we are introducing you to the Honor 200 Pro, Honor’s new flagship model. This device stands out with its many innovative features and eye-catching design. Particularly, the collaborations and technological advancements related to camera capabilities are one of the phone’s most attractive aspects. Let’s take a close look at all the details of the Honor 200 Pro in this review.
Design and Build
The Honor 200 Pro follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, the Honor 90 Pro and 100 Pro, offering a modern design. Equipped with a 6.78-inch curved OLED display, the device impresses users with a resolution of 1224×2700 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The back panel is covered with glass, and the large camera housing draws attention. Honor offers this model in two color options: Black and Ocean Blue. The Ocean Blue model, in particular, presents a very elegant appearance with its wavy patterns.
The chrome-like plastic frame surrounding the phone may disappoint some users; as a phone with a price tag of 40,000 TL would typically be expected to have a metallic material. The device includes stereo speakers at the top and bottom, with an infrared sensor located at the top edge. The bottom section features the charging port and a dual SIM card tray. The phone is 8.2 mm thick and weighs 199 grams, and when using the included protective case, the thickness can reach 1 cm. The fingerprint sensor is integrated under the display and works quite quickly; there is also a face recognition feature available.
The Honor 200 Pro offers water and dust resistance with an IP65 certification; however, it is not completely waterproof. Therefore, it is advisable to keep this in mind.
Camera Capability
The Honor 200 Pro aims to stand out, particularly with its camera capabilities. On the back, there is a 50 MP main camera that can record video in 4K resolution at 60 fps. Additionally, a 50 MP telephoto camera with a Sony sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera are among the device’s other camera components. On the front, there is a 50 MP selfie camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. This combination enhances the sense of depth in portrait shots.
Honor has collaborated with Paris’s famous Harcourt photo studio to make the portrait mode more impressive. As a result, users can capture high-quality portraits even in different lighting conditions. The options offered in portrait mode, “Harcourt Live,” “Harcourt Color,” and “Harcourt Classic,” help you achieve beautiful shots in various scenarios. The details provided by the main camera in bright daylight are quite satisfying; however, its performance in low light conditions is not as good as expected.
Display Performance
The Honor 200 Pro’s 6.78-inch OLED display provides vibrant and clear images with a resolution of 1224×2700 pixels. The display features a 120 Hz refresh rate along with HDR10 support. The brightness level, which can reach up to 4000 nits, enhances the screen’s readability even in intense sunlight. It is possible to change the screen refresh rate via the MagicOS interface, which positively impacts the user experience.
However, some issues may arise in terms of user experience; particularly, improvements are needed regarding the reliability of high refresh rate settings. Additionally, watching series and movies on applications like Netflix and YouTube becomes quite enjoyable thanks to HDR10 support.
Performance and Processor
The Honor 200 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This processor stands out with its powerful performance; however, it falls short in multi-core performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device offers four different RAM and storage options, providing a spacious usage area with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage. However, it is worth noting that there is no support for external memory cards.
Battery Life and Charging Features
The Honor 200 Pro is equipped with a 5200 mAh battery. This battery can provide around 11 hours of use with heavy daily usage. With 100W wired and 66W wireless charging support, the charging time of your phone is quite fast. The included 100W power adapter provides a significant advantage to the user in this regard.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Honor 200 Pro is a phone that stands out with its powerful features, especially its camera capabilities. However, the price tag of 40,000 TL may be concerning for some users. The non-use of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the lack of IP68 certification are questionable points for potential buyers. We believe it could be a more competitive option when its price drops.
