Sales Success of the Resident Evil Series

The Resident Evil series, a horror and thriller-focused shooter action game developed by Capcom, has continued to attract the attention of gamers for many years. During this process, the total sales figures of the series have come to light, showcasing the significant success of the games.

Resident Evil Series Reaches High Sales Figures

According to statements made by the development team, the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 have performed remarkably well. Additionally, one of the most notable games in the series, Resident Evil Village, reached a worldwide sales figure of 10.1 million units as of June 30, 2024. This game surpassed the 10 million sales mark on June 11, earning the title of the fastest game to reach this significant milestone in the series.

Among other important games in the series, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has achieved 13.7 million units sold. This figure indicates that an additional 400,000 units were sold in the last quarter. Although the game was initially released in January 2017, it currently stands out as the second best-selling game in the series after the Resident Evil 2 remake. Moreover, it also holds the distinction of being the fourth best-selling game in Capcom’s history.

On the other hand, while various rumors circulate about the innovations of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, Capcom has only confirmed that the development of the series’ ninth main game is underway. The release date and the platforms for this new game, directed by Koshi Nakanishi, have yet to be clarified.
