Production Increase for iPhone 16 Series

With only a month left until the highly anticipated official launch of the iPhone 16 series, Apple is taking significant steps to increase its production capacity to meet growing demand. According to recent reports, Apple has placed large screen orders from Samsung and LG for the iPhone 16 series. This indicates that the company is expecting high demand.

According to reports published by the Korea-based Business Korea, Apple’s main iPhone assembler in China, Foxconn, has made 50,000 new hires at its largest assembly facility. This significant recruitment appears to be aimed at meeting the high demand Apple anticipates for this year’s iPhone models. Previous estimates suggest that Apple is expected to sell more than 100 million iPhone 16 phones this year, and it is claimed that the company has also increased its chip orders accordingly.

Foxconn’s manufacturing facility in Zhengzhou, China, accounts for approximately 80% of global iPhone production, earning it the nickname “iPhone City.” To meet the increasing demand, Foxconn has recruited new workers through major job platforms and social media sites, offering higher base wages and various bonuses in the process. The salaries of the newly hired workers have seen an increase of nearly twenty-five percent compared to a month ago.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to come with several significant design changes this year. The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are anticipated to feature a vertical camera arrangement that allows for spatial video recording for the Apple Vision Pro. Additionally, the iPhone 16 series seems to be equipped with a dedicated camera hardware button.
