Important Information About the Support Duration of Windows 11 Versions
With the arrival of autumn, an important reminder has been made regarding the expiration of support durations for certain versions of Windows 11 offered by Microsoft. In particular, it has been stated that Windows 11 versions 21H2 and 22H2 will no longer receive security updates as of October 8, 2024. This situation indicates that users who continue to use these older versions should consider upgrading to a more recent version.
Currently, the support for Windows 11 version 21H2 has already ended for standard users. However, only the Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise SKUs continue to receive regular updates. On the other hand, the Home and Pro SKUs for Windows 11 version 22H2 will also lose their support on October 8, 2024.
The good news is that most standard users need not worry about the end of support for versions 21H2 and 22H2. Most likely, many users have already upgraded their systems to Windows 11 version 23H2. If you want to find out which version of Windows 11 your computer is running, you can check this information by going to Settings > System > About and looking at the Windows Specifications > Version section.
Windows 11 versions 21H2 and 22H2 have provided users with a total of two years of active support. The Enterprise and Education SKUs are typically supported for an additional year. The next version that will reach the end of support is Windows 11 version 23H2. According to official documents, this version will reach the end of its lifecycle on November 11, 2025.
