President Biden and Artificial Intelligence Conspiracies: Reality or Fiction?

In a press conference held in July 2023, U.S. President Joe Biden notably claimed that he is artificial intelligence. Although the official minutes of the event state that there were “laughter” following these remarks, some conspiracy theorists perceive this situation not as a joke, but as an extremely serious allegation. These conspiracy theories resurfaced with a post titled “I’m just asking a question” shared by a social media phenomenon on July 24, 2024, which was viewed 78,000 times: “Could it be that during live broadcasts to the nation, a holographic AI malfunctions, and Joe Biden could disappear for a few seconds?” Such speculations sound quite crazy. However, this idea is not new; with the proliferation of deepfake videos produced by artificial intelligence and 3D holographic projections, conspiracy theorists now claim that such technologies can be used. For example, in 2021, an 8-hour Facebook video emerged claiming that Joe Biden was a hologram. However, this video was later removed; conspiracy theorists interpret this as the Biden administration panicking and having the video taken down.

On the other hand, a video published on YouTube claims that Biden’s interviews with media personnel are fake and supports this with footage that it claims proves so. In the video below, there are moments where Biden appears to be chatting with media personnel. However, image experts identify a “frame” where Biden’s hand passes over the microphones. This suggests that Biden could be an AI-generated animation. However, it has also been observed that at international meetings, Biden shakes hands and has impromptu conversations with leaders of other countries. Conspiracy theorists argue that this could also be a stunt double wearing an advanced mask.

Is Biden dead? So, what do conspiracy theorists think about these AI-generated animations? Why might the U.S. administration be using a “fake” president? According to conspirators, the Democratic Party is actually using artificial intelligence video technologies, makeup, and stunt techniques, as well as advanced hologram technologies that have not yet been introduced to the world, to continue governing the U.S. without holding a new election while showcasing a “dead” president.
