Sziget Festival Kicks Off in Budapest

As festival-goers roll their suitcases across the iconic K-Bridge, excitement fills the air for the much-anticipated Sziget Festival, taking place in the heart of Budapest. This year is particularly special as it marks the 30th anniversary of this beloved event, which is expected to draw an impressive crowd representing over 100 nationalities.

For the duration of the week, Óbuda Island transforms into the vibrant Island of Freedom, with the festival embracing the theme of “Love is Love.” Attendees can look forward to an extraordinary lineup featuring more than 1,000 performances across over 50 diverse stages, showcasing a range of genres and artistic expressions.

This year’s star-studded lineup includes:

  • Kylie Minogue, the “Princess of Pop”
  • Fred Again, the DJ sensation taking the music world by storm
  • Halsey, the acclaimed singer-songwriter
  • Liam Gallagher, the legendary frontman

The festival commenced with a captivating performance by the Hungarian folk-pop band Margaret Island, who set the stage ablaze and warmed up the crowd in anticipation of tonight’s highly awaited closing act, Kylie Minogue.
