Apple Introduced ChatGPT Integration with iOS 18

At the WWDC 2024 event held in June, Apple introduced a new feature called Apple Intelligence with iOS 18. Another notable innovation among these features is the ChatGPT integration. However, it was stated that this integration will only be available on supported devices with the iOS 18.1 update. The ChatGPT integration is expected to be ready by the end of 2024.

According to MacRumors, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced in a recent statement that ChatGPT will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia “by the end of the calendar year.” This indicates the earliest iOS 18.2 update.

When the feature is activated, users will be able to direct specific questions to Siri and receive answers from ChatGPT. Additionally, the writing assistance feature provided by ChatGPT will support users in creating text messages, emails, and more. Users will also have the opportunity to generate images in various styles, supported by the latest GPT-4o model.

Access to ChatGPT will be completely free, and there will be no requirement to create an account with OpenAI. However, ChatGPT Plus members will be able to link their accounts for additional premium features. Apple appears open to adding other AI bots to Siri in the future; among these bots is Google’s Gemini project.

Apple researchers are working intensively to bring Siri’s capabilities on par with ChatGPT and Gemini. Currently, limited access to the Apple Intelligence feature is available in the developer beta version of iOS 18.1. Although we have tested the software, it has not yet reached a level suitable for daily use. Therefore, most users are advised to wait for the stable and final version of the update to be released.
