Yakuza Wars Trademark Application

The Japan-based video game developer Sega filed a trademark application for the name Yakuza Wars on July 26. This situation has generated great excitement in the gaming world and has been officially announced to the public. With the acquisition of the name rights, players are eagerly awaiting a new game in the Yakuza series.

Like a Dragon Series Known as Yakuza in the West

Although SEGA has not announced any sequel or spin-off games yet, this new trademark application is thought to be related to the upcoming Yakuza game. This popular series, known as Yakuza in the West, is actually referred to as Like a Dragon in Japan. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the developer of the Yakuza and Like a Dragon series, mentioned last month that they are working on a game that will greatly surprise fans of the series.

The latest game released by the developer team, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, was launched in January of this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. Especially, the PC version of the game was made available to players through Steam and Microsoft Store. The positive feedback the game has received increases hopes that a new Yakuza game could generate the same excitement.
