Tragic Stabbing Incident in Holon, Israel
In a shocking incident on Sunday morning, two individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in Holon, Israel, which is located south of Tel Aviv. Authorities have indicated that this event was likely a terrorist attack. The assailant was also reported to be deceased.
Emergency services, including Magen David Adom, Israel’s primary emergency response organization, received alerts just before 7:30 a.m. They arrived at the scene to find four victims scattered across three different locations.
- A 70-year-old woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, having been found in a local park.
- Nearby, a man was discovered in serious condition.
- A second 70-year-old man was located on a street in critical condition.
- A 26-year-old man was found at the entrance of a bus parking lot, conscious but wounded.
All victims were rushed to a hospital with stab wounds, according to Magen David Adom. Unfortunately, during this process, a second victim passed away, as confirmed by Peretz Amar, the police chief for the Tel Aviv District, during a news conference.
In the aftermath, police engaged the suspect, who was subsequently shot and “neutralized.” According to the Israel Police, the attacker was a resident of the Israeli-occupied West Bank and was in his 20s. They classified the incident as a “suspected terrorist attack.” Such stabbing incidents have regrettably become more frequent in Israel in recent years.
Officials at the Shamir Medical Center reported that the assailant was transported to the hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
