Expectations for Apple’s New iPhone SE 4

Apple plans to launch the fourth generation of its iPhone SE model next year. This new model is expected to come with numerous updates. According to rumors, the iPhone SE 4 will be Apple’s first SE phone to feature an OLED display.

According to a new report from Elec, Apple’s primary OLED screen supplier for the iPhone SE 4 will continue to be BOE, while LG Display will also come on board as a secondary OLED screen supplier. The reason behind this decision is attributed to the production volume issues that the Chinese supplier BOE has faced in the past. This situation explains Apple’s decision to partner with an alternative supplier to secure its production processes.

The OLED panel prices for the iPhone SE 4 are expected to be more affordable compared to the displays used in the iPhone 15. This new model will use the OLED screens utilized in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, which means that screen manufacturers won’t need to make additional investments in R&D.

The design of the fourth generation iPhone SE is expected to resemble the iPhone 14. Additionally, there are speculations that the back casing of the iPhone SE 4 may be inspired by the back casing of the iPhone 16. Previous rumors also suggested that the iPhone SE 4 would be equipped with a standard A18 chipset similar to that of the iPhone 16 model.

Apple is likely to launch the iPhone SE 4 with a single 48 MP camera, 6 GB – 8 GB LPDDR5 RAM, and an aluminum casing. Other features that could be included in the iPhone SE 4 are:

  • Face ID: Expected to replace Touch ID.
  • USB-C Port: In line with modern connectivity standards.
  • Action Button: To enhance user experience.
  • Full-Screen View: To provide a wider viewing experience.

Apple is expected to release the iPhone SE 4 between March and May 2025, with a price tag ranging from $499 to $549. This new model aims to excite Apple fans with both its technical specifications and design.
