Donald Trump Embraces Bitcoin with Limited Edition Sneakers

In a bold demonstration of his support for bitcoin (BTC), U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed an enthusiastic crowd of over 3,000 attendees at the Bitcoin Conference this past Saturday. Following his appearance, he has taken his endorsement a step further by launching a unique line of themed footwear—Trump Sneakers.

Earlier this week, the Trump-owned website began offering a selection of limited edition sneakers, including an eye-catching Bitcoin-themed high-top version priced at $499 per pair, available for pre-order. This vibrant orange design is particularly special, with only 1,000 pairs produced, all of which have already sold out. The product description emphasizes the sneakers’ significance, stating, “These exclusive sneakers celebrate the future of finance and the leadership of President Trump, boldly emblazoned with a prominent Bitcoin symbol. Perfect for crypto enthusiasts and Trump supporters alike, these limited-edition shoes are a must-have.”

Additionally, the website has released another 1,000 pairs of low-top sneakers, available in both bright orange and black, retailing at $299 each. The color orange has become synonymous with support for the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The distinction between high-tops and low-tops refers to the height of the shoes around the wearer’s ankle.

As of Thursday morning, the high-top, bright orange sneakers had completely sold out. Some eager pre-order purchasers are already listing their pairs on eBay for prices soaring as high as $2,500.

The Trump Sneakers website is operated by CIC Ventures LLC, a company that Trump declared as fully owned in his 2023 financial disclosure. The site explicitly states that it operates independently from Trump’s political campaign, clarifying that the sneakers are not designed, sold, or manufactured by Trump or his associates.

The Bitcoin-themed sneakers went live shortly after Trump’s impassioned speech at the conference in Nashville, where he vowed to fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler and establish a strategic bitcoin reserve if elected. He proclaimed his intentions to be a “pro-Bitcoin” president, promising not to sell any of the 213,239 BTC seized by authorities and currently held in U.S. government wallets.
