Google’s New Pixel 9 Series and Call Notes Feature
Google’s eagerly awaited Pixel 9 series phones may be introduced with an innovation that Apple fans will have to wait impatiently for. According to leak expert Dylan Roussel, the new Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold models will be equipped with a tool called Call Notes, which is powered by artificial intelligence.
This innovative feature will allow users to record and transcribe their phone calls. Although Roussel does not directly mention the call summarization feature, it is believed that this tool will provide a summarization function for calls in a manner similar to how the Recorder app on the Pixel 8 Pro manages calls.
On the other hand, Apple’s iOS 18 (especially the iOS 18.1 update) will also come with a similar feature, but this feature will only be available on the latest iPhone models such as iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 series. Apple plans to offer this functionality under the Apple Intelligence package, meaning that Google Pixel 9 users will experience this feature before iPhone users.
- Samsung Galaxy phones have had a call recording feature for a long time, but they do not offer a built-in transcription or summarization method.
- Google is expected to eventually integrate the new Call Notes feature into older Pixel models, but for now, this innovation seems to be exclusive to the Pixel 9 series.
Google is expected to officially introduce the Pixel 9 series on August 14.
