Netflix’s New Application: Why Are Users Not Satisfied?

For Windows users, Netflix is launching a revamped version of its application. However, this change may not be pleasing for all users. The redesigned Netflix application can now be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. However, this new version can be seen as a kind of regression for many users. This is because some popular features of Netflix are no longer available.

The new application actually offers an interface that calls the Netflix.com website through the Edge browser rather than being an independent program. This situation allows users to essentially use the website within an Edge window that looks like an application. Another significant blow that comes with this change is that Netflix no longer offers the option to download content. This feature allowed users to watch their favorite series and movies offline later, but this option has now been removed.

So, why did Netflix feel the need to make such a change? It seems that the company is trying to convert its services into a browser format that will work on every computer and device to overcome problems like incompatibility issues that a separate application might create for some users. Thus, rather than developing separate applications for each operating system, they may have preferred a browser-based application that works seamlessly on every device.
