In an electrifying speech at her campaign headquarters in Delaware, Harris launched a vigorous and pointed critique of Donald Trump, emphasizing her law enforcement background as a key asset in her quest to defeat a political rival who has been convicted of crimes. “Donald Trump aims to regress our nation to an era when many Americans were denied their fundamental freedoms and rights,” she declared. “In contrast, we envision a brighter future that is inclusive and welcoming to all.”
Harris accused Trump of planning to implement tax breaks for large corporations, which she argued would erode the middle class and diminish access to essential healthcare services. As she outlined her strategies to counter his influence, she made it clear that she is prepared for the challenges ahead.
With a wave of prominent Democrats rallying behind her, the chair of the Democratic National Committee announced that the party would select its presidential nominee by August 7 through an online vote ahead of the convention. Most delegates have already pledged their support to Harris, further paving her way to the nomination.

Biden:
In a show of solidarity, President Joe Biden, sounding weary from his recent battle with Covid-19, made a phone call to the Harris event. He assured campaign workers, who had been dedicated to his own campaign until just a few days ago, “We are still in this fight together. I’m not going anywhere.”
