Hunter Biden Withdraws Lawsuit Against Fox News

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has made the decision to withdraw his lawsuit against Fox News, which alleged that the network violated a revenge porn statute by broadcasting explicit photos and videos of him without his consent. This announcement came on Sunday, encapsulated in a brief one-page motion submitted by his legal team in the New York Supreme Court located in Manhattan.

The lawsuit centered around a mini-series titled The Trial of Hunter Biden, which premiered in 2022 on the streaming platform Fox Nation. The series depicted a hypothetical criminal trial of Mr. Biden, featuring fictional charges while incorporating real images of him in compromising situations—some of which were taken from a laptop he had left at a repair shop in Delaware.

In response to Mr. Biden’s legal complaints, Fox Nation removed The Trial of Hunter Biden from its platform back in April after Mr. Biden’s attorneys reached out to the network, demanding its removal.

Fox News previously dismissed the legal claims made by Mr. Biden, asserting that the lawsuit was “entirely politically motivated” and “devoid of merit.” The network maintained that their content did not infringe upon any laws, emphasizing the political context surrounding the allegations.

A representative for Hunter Biden did not immediately respond to inquiries for further comment on the matter as of Monday.

In a separate legal development in June, Hunter Biden was convicted on three felony counts related to the unlawful purchase of a firearm. Additionally, he is set to face trial later this year concerning charges of tax evasion.
