Discover everything about the innovations and features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the future of foldable phone technology. Detailed information on the evolution of foldable phones, design trends, and user experiences is here!
Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy Z Fold 6 has opened for pre-order ahead of its release date on July 24. However, this exciting development has also led to leaks regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to hit the market next year. The Fold 6 comes with several new Galaxy AI features to offer users a premium experience, and its design has been made sleeker compared to previous models.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers a thinner and lighter build while also being a more durable phone. However, the search for something better continues in the tech world. So, is it possible to produce an even thinner foldable phone? It seems that Samsung is rolling up its sleeves on this front as well.
Following Samsung’s introduction of its 2024 foldable phones, the Honor brand has also launched its Magic V3 model in China. The new foldable phone is even thinner than its predecessor, the Honor Magic V2, with its ultra-thin design. Now, Samsung is expected to develop a thinner phone in response to this new innovation.
Samsung’s goal is for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to have the same thickness as the Galaxy S24 when folded. The Galaxy S24 has a profile of 7.7 mm; thus, this would be a significant achievement for Samsung. Can Samsung create a phone that is 4 mm thick? The new phone will need to have a thickness of under 4 mm when opened, which is quite a challenging target. So far, no phone manufacturer has managed to reach this thickness.
The Honor Magic V3 model stands out with its thickness of 9.2 mm, which is 0.7 mm thinner than the previous generation Magic V2. When unfolded, the Magic V3 has a profile of 4.35 mm. It is still unknown how Samsung will achieve this goal; however, the company is drawing attention with the targets it has set. Moreover, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be lighter than the Fold 6, which weighs 239 grams. Let’s see if Samsung can achieve these challenging goals. If they succeed, it will be inevitable for competing companies to develop thinner and lighter phones as well.
