Since its launch, Apple’s spatial computer Vision Pro has been struggling to reach the expected sales figures. According to market research, it is reported that this device, which was released in the US in February, could only sell 100,000 units in the quarter.

The 75% decrease in domestic sales indicates that Apple’s first spatial computer did not receive the expected interest. Despite being introduced to the international market, IDC predicts that sales volume will not exceed 500,000 until 2024.

  • Apple’s high pricing policy
  • Weight
  • Lack of special applications and video content

These factors contribute to the slow sales of Vision Pro. Additionally, the absence of popular applications like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify on the platform also negatively affects sales. The VisionOS 2 update does not offer a significant innovation.

Could an Affordable Vision Pro Be the Solution?

Rumors suggest that Apple is working on a more affordable version of the Vision Pro. According to IDC, it is believed that sales could more than double when a cheaper version is released. Bloomberg states that a more affordable device could be launched in the second half of next year.

According to forecasts, the price of the affordable Vision Pro will be around $1,600. However, it is seen that Apple has not set a clear strategy on which features to remove to reduce the price.

  • Screens with lower resolution
  • iPhone processor
  • Fewer external cameras and sensors

It is speculated that features like the ones mentioned above could be included in the affordable model. Bloomberg indicates that the price range for this model is between $1,500 and $2,500.
