Tether, the leading stablecoin provider, has recently appointed Philip Gradwell as their new head of economics. Gradwell, formerly the chief economist at Chainalysis, brings over six years of experience in blockchain analytics to his new role at Tether.

As the chief economist, Gradwell will be responsible for quantifying the Tether economy to regulators. This strategic move aims to enhance transparency and provide valuable insights into Tether’s operations.

Tether, with a market capitalization exceeding $112 billion, is the largest stablecoin in circulation. By leveraging Gradwell’s expertise, Tether aims to deepen its understanding of how digital assets are utilized in the real economy.

Gradwell expressed his vision for his new role, stating, “My goal at Tether is to shift the conversation towards understanding how digital assets are integrated into the real economy, and how USDT plays a crucial role in supporting dollar hegemony.”
