After Apple relaxed its rules regarding the application category in April, retro console emulators emerged on the iOS platform, and now Apple has approved the first Windows PC emulator that it had previously rejected. With this development, it is now possible to emulate the Windows operating system on iOS devices.

The emulator application named UTM SE can be used not only on iPhones but also on iPads and Apple Vision Pro headsets. UTM SE allows you to run various Windows versions starting from Windows XP, as well as certain Linux and macOS versions.

The presence of UTM SE in the App Store was a surprising development as it had been rejected by Apple back in June. However, it is not clear what has changed now. Whether there has been a change in Apple’s policies or the updates made to the application have been effective, it is not yet clear. However, this situation brings hope that other developers will also be able to upload PC emulators to the App Store.

Which PC Softwares Will Work on iOS?

Thanks to the PC emulator, you will now be able to play many PC games on your iOS devices and run some important PC softwares as well. Of course, you will not be able to play the latest high-end hardware-demanding games on your iOS devices, but software with low system requirements such as retro PC games can run on the iOS platform. However, it is important not to run applications containing sensitive data on the emulator. Developers can access all data in the software you run, so caution is necessary.
