WhatsApp has started testing a new feature that will allow us to read voice messages as text in the beta version. This feature, which some users have tested in the iOS beta version “23.3.0.73” and Android beta version “2.24.15.5”, converts voice messages into text, enabling users to communicate more easily.

According to the information shared by Wabetainfo, beta test users can now enable the transcription feature of voice messages. Thanks to this feature, incoming and outgoing voice messages are automatically converted into text. However, an additional data package may need to be downloaded to create transcripts.

Supported languages currently include English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi. Users can be sure of their privacy because they create the audio transcripts on their devices. No one else has the ability to listen to voice notes or read the transcripts.

This new feature aims to significantly improve the user experience, especially for hearing-impaired individuals, and increase the accessibility of the application. WhatsApp users will be able to continue their communication more effectively by reading voice messages as text.
