This surge in odds comes just before Biden’s first press conference in months, scheduled for this evening in the U.S. There has been growing concern regarding his age and cognitive health, prompting calls from prominent Democrats and donors, such as actor George Clooney, for the president to consider stepping aside. Despite this, Biden has reiterated his determination to stay in the race.
Biden’s chances of securing the Democratic nomination have also seen a significant decline, falling by 16 points to 38%, as indicated by another Polymarket contract. Meanwhile, a separate contract focusing on the presidential election outcome shows Biden with a 10% probability of winning, down by four points for the day. Vice President Kamala Harris holds a 19% chance, while presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump leads with 61% odds according to Polymarket.
