YouTube is Creating Custom Radio Stations Using Artificial Intelligence
YouTube creates personalized radio stations using artificial intelligence. It offers you a unique music experience based on your favorite songs and genres.
According to the discovery made by a Reddit user named kater_pro, YouTube is working on a feature that uses artificial intelligence to create custom radio stations. Although the company has not officially announced this feature yet, kater_pro shares that he observed this feature in the YouTube Music application.
As indicated by kater_pro, this feature is currently being tested with a limited number of users. The ‘Experiment’ label seen in the screenshots confirms that this feature is in the testing phase.
When the feature is activated, users are presented with a text box saying ‘Search for music the way you want.’ kater_pro requested ‘queer hip hop rhythms’ in this box, and the artificial intelligence created a custom radio playlist including songs by Janelle Monáe, Lil Nas X, and RuPaul.
Through a small chat box in the interface, lists created by artificial intelligence can be instantly edited. Additionally, users can provide feedback by typing or speaking.
This feature, resembling Spotify’s ‘AI DJ’ feature, also competes with third-party applications like PlaylistAI. Such AI-powered features aim to provide users with a more effective music recommendation experience.
- These kinds of features, unlike standard recommendation systems, aim to offer users a more personalized and customized music experience. However, real user experiences and feedback will more clearly demonstrate how successful these features are.
