Bitcoin Update: German State Saxony’s Bitcoin Movement
Stay informed with the latest Bitcoin update from the German state of Saxony. Explore the growing Bitcoin movement in Saxony and its impact on the cryptocurrency landscape.
Bitcoin (BTC) has maintained its value around $58,500 despite a recent movement of coins on-chain by the German state Saxony. The cryptocurrency failed to sustain levels above $59,000 during the Asian trading hours. Currently, BTC is trading at $58,470, showing a 1.6% decrease from its recent high of $59,450.
As per Arkham Intelligence, the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) recently transferred 5103.5 BTC, valued at nearly $300 million, to exchanges such as Kraken and Coinbase, along with market makers like Cumberland and Flow Traders. This move is part of the ongoing liquidation process of BTC seized from a privacy website.
The state of Saxony in Germany has been actively selling Bitcoin over the past few weeks, following standard procedures. Since late June, Saxony has liquidated a total of 30,997 BTC, impacting the crypto market. BTC has experienced a decline of over 15% in the last four weeks, with prices dropping to $53,550 at one point last week. The BKA’s wallet currently holds 18,860 BTC.
The market’s stable price action indicates a growing acceptance of the divestment and potential selling by Mt. Gox creditors. Analyst Valentin Fournier from BRN noted, “The market appears to be more at ease with the outflows from Mt. Gox and the German government. Spot Bitcoin ETFs are showing strong inflows again, signaling a possible trend reversal.”
Fournier added, “We anticipate positive news from the upcoming U.S. CPI data, but expect the Fed to postpone rate adjustments until September. Any hawkish remarks could lead to market volatility, so it’s advisable to secure profits ahead of a potentially turbulent week’s end.”
Despite short-term uncertainties, the overall outlook remains positive, with major economies in an expansionary phase and traditional markets showing peak optimism, especially in technology stocks.
