Judy Garland’s place in cinema history takes a step further with the agreement to sing the famous ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ song in the 1939 film ‘The Wizard of Oz’. In order to introduce Judy Garland to younger generations in the Tiktok era, a new project featuring audio book narration using artificial intelligence is being carried out, where the famous actress’s voice will come to life again.

The London-based company ElevenLabs, founded by two Polish entrepreneurs, has reached an agreement with the heirs of Judy Garland and Sir Laurence Olivier to clone their voices. Users will now be able to download an application where they can listen to voice recordings of famous figures who are no longer alive.

Famous actress and voice artist Liza Minnelli, who is the daughter of Garland and the representative of her legacy, said, “It will be exciting for our mother’s voice to reconnect with the millions of people who love her.”

Moreover, in the project, not only Judy Garland’s voice but also the voices of iconic actors such as James Dean, Burt Reynolds, and Sir Laurence Olivier will be recreated.

ElevenLabs: A Rapidly Growing Artificial Intelligence Venture

The London-based company ElevenLabs was founded by Mati Staniszewski and former Google engineer Piotr Dabkowski. The company has managed to raise millions of pounds in investment and is currently rapidly growing, with a value of over 1 billion dollars.

Users of the application can ask the artificial intelligence to create not only the voices of celebrities but also different voice tones such as ‘Middle-aged American male‘ and ‘Optimistic Generation Y‘.
