Delay of City Building Game Cities Skylines 2 Console Version
The console version of the city building simulation game Cities Skylines 2 has been delayed once again. The game was initially planned to be released for PC, as well as for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in October 2023. However, unfortunately, the console version has been postponed to spring 2024 and then further to October. Now, it is confirmed that it will not be released in October.
Development Issues of Cities Skylines 2
In a statement made by Paradox Interactive, it was mentioned, “Unfortunately, we have not yet achieved the stability and performance goals we set for the console version. Therefore, we will not be able to release the game in October as planned.”
Disappointing DLC Pack
The recently released DLC pack for Cities Skylines 2 has caused a major disappointment and received criticism from players. In April, the Paradox team announced that they would refund users who purchased the first DLC pack. It was also announced that this pack would be added to the base game for free.
Postponement of Paid Expansion Pack
The release of the future paid expansion pack along with the console version of the game has been postponed. Finally, in June, Paradox announced its plan to close down the Tectonic studio following the cancellation of the Sims rival game Life by You.
