Spanish National Police Dismantle Criminal Organization in Malaga

The Spanish National Police announced the successful dismantling of a major criminal organization in Malaga, which was involved in forcing hundreds of women into prostitution. During the operation, 25 individuals were arrested, and 11 victims were rescued. Additionally, authorities seized approximately €150,000 in cash and about 1.2 kg of cocaine.

Most of the victims, primarily from Colombia, were deceived with promises of employment in beauty salons on the Costa del Sol. However, upon arrival, they were coerced into prostitution by the gang members who operated four brothels in the city, as revealed by the National Police investigators.

Over 500 women were exploited in this scheme, believing they were in debt due to travel and accommodation expenses. Subsequently, they were compelled to engage in continuous prostitution at the brothels, often being subjected to unprotected sex.

Furthermore, the criminal group reportedly trafficked drugs within the brothels, promoting their consumption among clients. This practice led to instances of physical abuse against the women working in these establishments, as indicated by law enforcement agencies.

It is estimated that the criminal organization profited approximately €1.5 million annually through these illicit activities.
