Rumors about Apple’s new flagship smartphone models iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max continue unabated. According to the latest report from South Korean publication ETNews, Apple is said to prefer Samsung’s M14 OLED panels in these new iPhone models. On the other hand, it is stated that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will continue to use M12 OLED panels.

M14 OLED Panels to Offer High Performance

The M series OLED panels produced by Samsung Display for these new smartphones are particularly noteworthy for their high performance. The number “14” in the model name indicates the panels’ capability to provide high brightness and long life. The mass production of these panels is planned to start in the second half of the year for Samsung.

Google Pixel 9 and 2nd Generation Pixel Fold to Also Use M14 Panels

Samsung’s M14 panels will not only be used for iPhone 16 models but also in Google’s Pixel 9 series (Standard, Pro, XL) and the 2nd generation Pixel Fold model. Google announced that it will introduce the new smartphone series at the Made By Google event in August. This information is consistent with previous rumors indicating a 20% increase in brightness on the screens of iPhone 16 Pro models.

Expected Release Date of the iPhone 16 Series

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 16 series most likely in September. Looking at past launches, releasing the new iPhone models in the second half of the year stands out as a traditional step.
