Artificial intelligence is everywhere now. From the images we see to the videos we watch; from the books we read to the conversations we hear, artificial intelligence could be behind everything. In this case, it becomes quite difficult to distinguish between reality and content generated by artificial intelligence.

Social media platforms also feel the need to indicate whether the content is generated by artificial intelligence or not. For instance, creators on YouTube are required to mark ‘This video contains content generated by artificial intelligence’ on the upload screen when they add content created by artificial intelligence to their videos.

The same goes for Instagram. In today’s world where most posts consist of content created by artificial intelligence, Instagram requests such content to be specified. However, the warning ‘Made with AI‘ bothers many photographers. Moreover, Instagram can automatically detect AI-generated content.

This situation also caught the attention of former White House photographer Pete Souza. Souza criticized the ‘Made with AI’ tag encountered during the upload of a basketball game photo from 40 years ago, stating that the use of tools like Adobe Photoshop could lead to this situation.

Attention should be paid to the metadata of photos. Metadata led to the transformation of this warning into a tag like ‘AI Info‘. Photographers expressed dissatisfaction with encountering the artificial intelligence tag due to the metadata added by tools like Adobe Photoshop.

To solve this issue, it may be necessary to edit or remove the metadata of the images. However, this process may not be practical in an era of rapid social media sharing. Nonetheless, it is advisable to be cautious against surprises related to artificial intelligence in the future.
