Paramount and Skydance Resume Deal Talks
Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media have reinitiated discussions regarding potential deals. Stay tuned for updates on the latest negotiations between the two entertainment giants.
Following a sudden halt in negotiations just weeks ago, Paramount and Skydance have reengaged in discussions, according to three sources familiar with the matter.
Paramount, the renowned parent company of CBS, MTV, and Nickelodeon, along with Skydance, the emerging movie studio known for its involvement in “Top Gun: Maverick,” had previously called off talks in June right before a merger vote. Although economic terms had been agreed upon, tensions arose between Shari Redstone, Paramount’s controlling shareholder representing National Amusements, and Skydance towards the end of the negotiation period.
National Amusements, through its parent company, is once again in talks with Skydance to explore the possibility of a deal. The specific terms of the potential agreement remain undisclosed at this time.
