With the start of a new month, Statcounter’s monthly reports have been published. As we enter the second half of 2024, the presence of Windows 11 continues to strengthen. According to the latest findings, Windows 11 has reached its all-time highest market share, constituting nearly 30% of all Windows PCs.
Market Share of Windows 11: In June 2024, Windows 11’s market share increased by 2.14% to reach 29.71%. This growth is considered a positive momentum after Windows 11 experienced customer losses in the middle of its lifecycle.
Windows 10, on the other hand, still maintains its leadership position strongly with a market share of 66.1%. However, Microsoft’s marketing strategies and the fact that Windows 10 will end support in 2025 are increasing users’ tendency to transition to Windows 11.
Windows Market Share Distribution (July 1, 2024):
- Windows 10: 66.1% (-2.23)
- Windows 11: 29.7% (+2.14)
- Windows 7: 2.95% (+0.09)
- Windows 8.1: 0.4% (-0.03)
- Windows XP: 0.39% (+0.02)
Analysts predict that the transition to Windows 11 will accelerate with the end of support for Windows 10, leading to a further decrease in the market share of Windows 10. However, it is noted that Windows 10 can still be used securely with security updates and alternative solutions.
Although the data from third-party analytics services may not be entirely accurate, it provides a general idea about the distribution of market share among Windows operating systems.
